Special Projects

The needs of Member Nations are always evolving. This is how NmTC stays ready to meet them.

Beyond our core service areas, Naut'sa mawt Tribal Council pursues additional project funding to respond to emerging priorities. These projects are driven by what the Nations bring to us — and they reflect the full range of what walking alongside the Nations can look like.

No two projects are the same. That is the point.

The following projects offer a window into the kinds of work NmTC takes on when the Nations bring us a need worth pursuing.

Gardens2Gardens

We developed a Nation-to-Nation knowledge sharing project called Gardens 2 Gardens in partnership with Tsleil-Waututh and Malahat Nations. The project focused on working together to strengthen community gardens and the capacity of those who tend them through hands-on mentorship in the gardens. In addition, we developed place-based educational resources such as seasonal calendars, checklists, guides, and management plans.
